How it all started

In the Highlands, they were centered around Argyll and Perthshire, while in the Lowlands they held lands in Ayrshire and Fife. Some Fergusons were associated with the Dalriadic royal line and were respected warriors and scholars. Though spread out, they maintained a strong familial identity across regions.

The Chief of Clan Ferguson is Sir Adam Ferguson of Kilkerran. The crest features a bee on a thistle head, and the motto “Dulcius ex asperis” (Sweeter after difficulties) speaks to the clan’s endurance and optimism.
