Clan Murray is one of the great noble families of Scotland, descending from Freskin, a Flemish knight granted lands in Moray during the 12th century. The Murrays became powerful landowners in Atholl, Tullibardine, and Sutherland. Their ancestral seat is Blair Castle, one of Scotland’s most iconic Highland estates.
