About the Lundin Tartan
Clan Lundin is an ancient Scottish clan of Fife, of Norman origin. Philip de Lundin was granted the barony of Lundin, near Largo, by King Malcolm IV in the 12th century, and the family took its name from those lands. Some of the line held the great office of door-ward, or Durward, to the king. The names Lundin, Lundie and Lundy are all forms of the one clan, and by ancient tradition it carries royal blood.

Lundin Clan Heritage
The Lundins came to Scotland of Norman stock and settled in Fife, where Philip de Lundin held the barony of Lundin under Malcolm IV and William the Lion. By ancient family tradition, Robert, a natural son of William the Lion, married a Lundin heiress and took the name, bringing the royal lion into the clan's arms. Sir Richard de Lundy was a co-leader, with William Wallace, of the early rising against Edward I of England.
The Lundin lairds held high offices — Lord High Treasurer, Sheriff of Fife, keepers of royal castles — and acquired lands across the kingdom. Near their old seat by Largo stand the great Standing Stones of Lundin, three towering monoliths that have watched over the Fife shore for thousands of years. In time the chiefship passed by an heiress to the Drummonds, but the name endures, ancient and proud, on the coast of Fife.
